Heads of 44 countries received presents - copies of a book on the history of St. Petersburg
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin gave presents to heads of the countries, who had come to the summit, and also to Mikhail Piotrovsky, director of the Hermitage. The presents were copies of the book St. Petersburg: 1703-2003 published to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the city on the banks of the Neva.
According to the press service of the Hermitage, this exquisite publication deals with various stages of the history of the city, its cultural and historical landmarks. More than 40 museums, charities, commercial and State organizations participated in writing this book. The book contains 1,112 pages, 11 chapters and more than 1,000 illustrations (most illustrations are colored).
