Motherboards with symbols of the St. Petersburg tercentenary from Giga-byte Technology
The Taiwanese manufacturer of computer products Giga-byte Technology offers motherboards with a microprogram showing views of the Bronze Horseman. According to Aerton St. Petersburg, the official distributor of Giga-byte Technology, the BIOS screen of the motherboards Giga-byte 8PE800-RS (chipset Intel 845PE) and 8ST800-RS (chipset SiS645) shows the Bronze Horseman when the computer is connected. A hologram with Falcone’s creation is also put on the BIOS microchip.
The Taiwanese computer manufacturer has decided to celebrate in this way the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg. According to the Russian representative office of Giga-byte Technology, the “jubilee motherboards” will be sold throughout Russia.
Giga-byte Technology, founded in 1986, is the third largest manufacturer of motherboards, selling them for about $350 mln. It has its offices in Hamburg, Los Angeles and Osaka.
